Artist statement

私は芸術作品が創造され・鑑賞され、あらゆる民族の中で文化として存在する理由を「人間特有の確認の儀式」として捉えています。
心の存在によって異なる内部世界に住んでいる私たち、そして流動的で非連続的な心をもつ私たちは、「私」という空間・「現在」という時間を超越した認識を構築するため、芸術作品という「モノ」を媒体とした<確認の儀式>を続け、それぞれの内部世界を再構築し続けている、という考えです。
一方、私個人にとって関心事は「真実(世界=自分自身にとって確かなこと・受け入れざるを得ないもの・信じる対象)とは何なのか」ということであり、自身の中でその時見つけた真実の断片を、「私」「現在」を超えて確認可能な媒体として物質化することが、私のアーティストとしての制作テーマとなっています。


I see the reason why artworks are created, appreciated, and exist as a culture among all peoples as “a ritual of confirmation unique to human beings”.
We, who live in different inner worlds depending on the existence of our minds, and who have fluid and discontinuous minds, continue to reconstruct our perspective through “rituals of confirmation” using various artworks as a medium, in order to build a perception that transcends the space of “I” and the time of “present”.
On the other hand, my personal interest is “what is the truth (what is certain for the world = myself, what we cannot help but accept, and what we believe in),” and my theme as an artist is to materialize the fragments of truth that I have found at that time as a medium that can be confirmed beyond “I” and “present”.
